Philosophy

“When your house is in order, so are you."

I believe that organized and beautiful surroundings have healing powers that reach far beyond the surface. Decluttering, simplifying, and updating our home and workspaces creates positive energy flow, enhances productivity, and promotes overall feelings of peace and well-being. An organized home is an organized life.

Life's transitions like downsizing, moving, and letting go of a family home and beloved belongings can be emotional and overwhelming for all involved. Having someone objective by your side to provide expertise and compassionate guidance can ease the burden and help guide you and your loved ones through each stage of this often daunting process.

“Kristi is a miracle worker! I think was overwhelmed by the amount of stuff we had accumulated in our home over 30 years. It was time to do a major declutter/clean out and I reached out to Kristi. To be honest, I thought I could tackle the job on my own but I couldn’t have been more wrong. Kristi brought a wealth of information about donation services, haul away options, and effective organizational/storage techniques. She arranged estimates, offered critical advice and worked right beside me as we sorted through a mess! Her positivity, calm demeanor, patience, and expert advice were a life saver. I cannot recommend Kristi more highly. Her rates are very reasonable and she is worth every penny… and more!"

Both in my personal and professional life, my mantra has always been that when your house is in order, so are you. From the early days of juggling career with life, community, and raising three kids, I quickly learned that an organized home is truly an organized life. I noticed that maintaining a beautiful, clutter-free home had a calming effect that helped me feel more relaxed and in control. I became efficient at creating systems to help maintain peace and balance – including learning to let go of clutter and unwanted items – and have continued to see, and show others, the incredible difference it can make on our overall mental health and happiness.

Coupling this practical, efficient side with a passion for everything related to home – from art, design and decorating to gardening and entertaining – I have made a hobby over the years out of organizing, styling, and enhancing my surroundings and helping friends and family members do the same. In early 2020 I decided to pause from my 30-year career in communications and left my full-time job as the Director of Public Relations at The Trustees of Reservations to start a new chapter and put these passions to practice.  Art of the Space was born.

It has been beyond gratifying ever since helping clients transform and manage their homes, lives and office spaces. I love seeing the renewed sense of relief and freedom they feel both mentally and physically after a decluttering or organizing session. The deep breath they take as I help them learn to let go and find new homes for items they can no longer use or get a handle on their paper and digital files and assets. The positive energy flow that takes over as the stare at a newly styled or updated space. The gratitude they feel for being in capable, compassionate, and objective hands when tackling important, but often daunting decisions and life transitions like downsizing and moving.

Please get in touch if I can answer any questions or be of service to you or someone you know!
